Every year on Eid-ul-Azha, Muslims all around the globe sacrifice animals to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim A.S. in following Allah's command to sacrifice his son. In Pakistan, however, while the majority of population practices this beautiful Sunnah and celebrates Eid with full aplomb, there are a large number of people who cannot afford eating meat let alone buying a sacrificial animal.

For this reason, on Eid-ul-Azha instead of its Annual Hides Campaign, HOPES decided to conduct its first ever Meat Drive on the 1st day of Eid. The primary objective was to send out a message regarding the true spirit of Eid-ul-Azha. This was done by collecting meat from the privileged and distributing it among the underprivileged and unfortunate.

This drive is advertised through various platforms. Collection points are made and people are encouraged to donate their sacrificial meat to HOPES. Our volunteers collected the meat at the collection points throughout the first day of Eid. By the end of the day, the meat is divided into equal portions and sent to underprivileged areas of the city.
