My journey with HOPES is a little bit different fr My journey with HOPES is a little bit different from all others as most students join HOPES during the initial academic years but the case was different with me.
It all started back in 2018 when I got to know about HOPES through their orientation. At that time I've heard from seniors that HOPES is mostly related to MBBS students only, since it's all about room 41 and patients of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Despite of what I heard, I went to drug bank (room 41) along with my 2 friends and decided to volunteer for the day. As it was my first day, so I didn't get to know much because I didn't have any clinical knowledge about medicines or diseases at that time but indeed it was a fun experience for me.
After that day, there came a long break and I didn't go to volunteer for drugbank (God knows why 😅) but I kept participating in all HOPES events be it HOPES EXPO or HOPES FETE. It was during this period I realized that HOPES is not about any field MBBS or BDS, anyone from any field could become part of HOPES and serve humanity in the best way possible. Not everything you hear is true always! Your profession has nothing to do with your participation in any welfare work. Fast forward to 2021, I became a part of the HOPES cabinet and rejoined Drug bank 41 then as a permanent member and that's when I realized what a great environment drug bank provides to everyone, it bridges the gap between seniors and juniors and you develop bond like a family. Everyone shares their experiences, celebrate birthdays, knowledge, their learnings and much more.

Working with HOPES has also taught me about the pain and sorrow of lower class of our society, their life hurdles and inability to afford medicines and run lab tests out of the limited resources they've. Their helplessness to save the dying individual of their family is something that motivated me to perform best of my abilities to serve these individuals.
