ZAKAT CAMPAIGN 2015
In 2015, HOPES increased its fundraising activities and officially started off with its Zakat Campaign by visiting many different malls and societies. Volunteers decided to beat all odds and went out in the scorching heat and even during their fast with just one thought in mind; to collect as much zakat as they could for the patients of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Their pure intentions and hard work was the reason why this campaign reached great heights and they were able to collect a generous amount of almost 0.5 million (5 lacs) just through their roadside campaigns.
Due to this initiative taken almost 5 years ago, Zakat Campaign has now become a major fund-raising campaign and has engaged a big number of volunteers and expects more, in the years to come.
FOR NATURAL DISASTERS
HOPES stands in complete solidarity with all the victims and has never hesitated to provide its health care services to those who need it the most. HOPES played a significant role to help rehabilitate the victims of the 2005 Earthquake and 2011-2012 floods in Sindh including the earthquake of Baluchistan last year. In addition to providing the victims with daily necessities of life, HOPES also built up to 200 houses, a Mosque and a school in district Dadu in 2012.
Drug Bank Support Campaign 2024 (DBSC'24)
In 2024, we took a crucial step to preserve one of our most impactful initiatives, the HOPES Drug Bank, by launching the Drug Bank Support Campaign (DBSC’24). This campaign was born out of urgent need. As the number of patients relying on our free medicine and lab services increased, the funds collected during the early 2024 Zakat campaign began to run low. The rising cost of healthcare due to inflation further strained our limited resources, making it nearly impossible to meet the growing monthly expenses, which had reached 51 lakh rupees.
Faced with the possibility of closing down the Drug Bank, our safe haven for countless underprivileged patients, we initiated DBSC’24 to raise dedicated funds and keep this essential service alive. The campaign was not just about collecting donations; it was about ensuring continuity of care, dignity, and access to basic health rights for all, regardless of financial status.
Thanks to the unwavering support of our generous donors and compassionate community, DBSC’ 24 helped us bridge the gap during a critical time. It allowed us to continue distributing life-saving medicines and conducting important lab tests for those who would otherwise go without.
DBSC’24 stands as a testament to the power of collective empathy and action. It’s a reflection of our ongoing mission to serve humanity with compassion and a reminder that even in the face of challenges, hope must, and will, prevail.
HOPES Diagnostics Outreach Campaign (2025)
The HOPES Diagnostics Outreach Campaign 2025 marked a new chapter in HOPES’ journey of serving the healthcare community beyond the hospital walls. Designed and led by the HOPES Diagnostics Unit, this campaign aimed to strengthen collaboration between HOPES and healthcare professionals across Karachi.
Unlike fundraising drives, this initiative focused on building relationships, not collecting donations. The campaign team visited private clinics, healthcare centers, and individual practitioners to introduce them to the vision and services of HOPES Diagnostics, a no-profit, no-loss laboratory model dedicated to providing accurate, fast, and affordable diagnostic testing for all.
Through these visits, the campaign sought to:
* Raise awareness about the affordable and ethical diagnostic services HOPES offers.
* Encourage doctors and clinics to partner with HOPES for patient testing and referrals.
* Expand the outreach network to ensure more underprivileged patients could access cost-effective diagnostics.
* Strengthen the foundation for upcoming projects, particularly the HOPES Radiology Project.
Beyond its operational goals, the Outreach Campaign was also about reviving spirit and sustainability. After a period of slowed patient inflow, this campaign became a turning point, re-energizing the team, boosting engagement, and reaffirming the mission of self-sustaining healthcare services.
Driven by the passion and commitment of the HOPES volunteers, the Outreach Campaign set the tone for future expansions, proving once again that meaningful change begins with connection, compassion, and collaboration.
